  • keyword Tool - Use Google's built-in keyword tool in your AdWord's account to discover more keywords.


  • Prevent Keyword Deactivation - Remember, your keyword, your ad, and the landing page must all work together. You can't bid on the keyword "dog training" and have the destination URL be a page selling dog beds. (This is just one of the reasons Google will deactivate your keyword!)

  • Targeting is Key - You MUST use multiple and very targeted ad groups for each campaign. The "shot-gun" approach simply does not work with PayPerClick!


  • Beware the Content Network! - It is ON by default! Turn it off in your campaign until you understand it better.

For some reason beginners tend to think AdWords will be their Gold Mine. Nothing is further from the truth. ..."money pit" is more like it! Don't get me wrong! I use AdWords myself as do almost all the top marketers. I am only saying that it is MUCH harder than you would think.

The learning curve for success is quite steep! AdWords is very difficult to learn. Should you try it? Yes, but do not make it your prime focus for marketing. It will take much time and practice to succeed with it. In the meantime, be working in other areas of Internet marketing also.
