Why is Affiliate Marketing So Difficult?
Beginners love the idea of starting an online business selling other people's products. Nothing to stock, no customer service, no shipping or download
hassles...what a deal for an Online business!
Then why does it seem so difficult to make it work?

Let me ask you this question first: What does it take to
successfully sell your OWN products? The answer is pretty easy: A
good product, a good sales page, and plenty of very focused traffic.
Guess what! Success with affiliate marketing requires the EXACT
same things!
- A Good Product - Too often, affiliates choose poor products at
best and scam products at worst. Heck, I bet the "Type at home"
scams are the most popular affiliate product out there! For your
success, you MUST promote a quality product!
- A Good Sales Page is Required - Affiliates usually point traffic
to the vendor's page and hope for the best. They are ASSUMING that
the vendor's page will convert the traffic they send into sales at
a reasonable rate. Oftentimes, that is a VERY BIG assumption on the
affiliate's part! Affiliates often do not understand that they may
have to cycle through a number of products/sales pages before they
find one which will convert their traffic to sales.
- Focused Traffic - THIS is the tough one. Beginning affiliates
often throw up an affiliate website, submit their links to free
classified sites, etc. These "quick fix" methods won't result in
converting traffic...and of course few or no sales. Taking the time to
build a niche website and use SEO to drive converting traffic to it
often seems like too much work to the beginning affiliate marketer. If you plan to use PayPerClick, be aware it has a VERY steep learning curve!
The point of this message is for you to realize that the basic
principles of Internet marketing are the same whether you are
selling your own products or selling someone else's. Most
importantly, the amount of Internet marketing work required is ALSO the
same! Just because you are selling someone else's products, doesn't
get you out of having to work hard at marketing!
Don't mislead yourself into thinking affiliate marketing is easy.
You don't need your own product or hassle with customer service
issues, but you'll need to work very hard in order to send quality
