Internet Marketing Expectations

Posted on July 29th, 2008 in Getting Started by Steve

Can you think of a career which offers significant potential which is easy to learn? Hmmm, let’s see. An auto mechanic? Nope, long learning curve. Ditto for airline pilot.

How about computer programming…uhh, nope, not a quick learn either. How about a doctor or a lawyer…absolutely not.

The potential one has with Internet marketing is greater than all the above occupations mentioned. Why should learning Internet marketing be any easier?

Those wanting a career in most areas are willing to become educated and work hard to achieve their dream. For some reason, many who attempt Internet marketing think it has hidden shortcuts.

This is where the scammers step in.

Not all offers are scams of course. Many offers require a greater foundation of skills and knowledge than most beginners have. Whether it is a scam or just too advanced, the end result is the same: wasted money.

The biggest reason people fail with Internet marketing is they underestimate how much time and work are required for success. Those who go into it with the hope of seeing at least some success sometime within the coming year are much more likely to succeed than those expecting an income by next month.

This stuff takes time!

Internet Marketing Beginners’ Mistakes

Posted on July 15th, 2008 in Getting Started by Steve

Most beginners make mistakes like this:

They learn the fine points of SEO just fine. Then, when it comes to content creation, they drop the ball. They only create a few pages and/or all the pages have maybe 200 words at most.

Beginners read that social sites can be the way to mega traffic. So what do they do? They create a tiny Face Book page, do a bit on MySpace, do a Twitter post now and then, etc. They spread their work so thinly across so many areas that nothing gets traction.

They know many people do well with article marketing. So they whip out a quick article now and then. Of course they don’t take the time to do keyword research or even optimize the article. Just posting an article is the most important thing to them.

Do you see a pattern in the above? Even beginners with quite a bit of Internet marketing knowledge can still fall short of success by trying shortcuts or diluting their efforts with too many “irons in the fire”.

Stay focused!

What Do Internet Marketers Dream About?

Posted on July 13th, 2008 in Where's My Traffic by Steve

There is one word which is at the top of every Internet marketer’s list of dreams. It is on our mind constantly. We cannot survive without out it; we always want more. What is the word?

Traffic!

Without it, failure is a given. With large volumes of it, anyone can make good money selling or promoting almost anything. With small, very targeted doses of it, a good living can be earned.

Here is where most beginners miss the boat. They fail to realize that traffic, above all else, is what they are working for.

Imagine if you did just one thing each day that might lead to 5 visits a day. In a year’s time you would be enjoying over 50,000 visits per month! THAT is enough to make a good living from!

Most beginners always want to hit a home run however. They aren’t willing to take it slow and think about Internet marketing in small pieces.

Those of you who figure out that success with Internet marketing involves a whole bunch of tiny pieces of work all coming together will succeed. Those who don’t ever grasp this aspect of Internet marketing will simply continue with their 9 to 5 jobs.

The best traffic of course is free traffic. The absolute authority on free traffic has to be Willie Crawford. Not only is he a very successful Internet marketer, he is one of the most “down to earth” guru’s you could ask for.

Free Traffic is the Best Traffic!

Posted on July 7th, 2008 in Free Traffic Methods by Steve

FREE traffic is the best kind of website traffic!

Of course that traffic must be targeted well or it is worthless. I will not go into all the methods beginners “shoot themselves in the foot” with. Just be aware there are numerous ways to actually hurt a site instead of helping.

You simply do not want to lower yourself to using junk traffic methods. Free classifieds, rented email lists, link exchanges….etc. are complete wastes of times; a few of them can actually hurt instead of help.

Instead, why not focus on tried and proven methods for generating quality traffic? My mentor, Willie Crawford, has put together a detailed description of the methods which work well.

If you simply put action behind the advice Willie offers, your traffic needs will be solved! Willie’s info is not just for beginners either. After listening to it I realized I had numerous holes in my marketing methods. Any serious Internet marketer can benefit greatly from the methods and techniques Willie describes.

Here’s the link to Free Traffic Methods.

P.S. As most of you already know, I do not suggest anything I do not use myself and find very useful.
