I see it all the time; a beginner gets a new site and first thing out of the chute she has ads of one sort or another on every page. The beginner is spending valuable time trying to make money instead of devoting time to marketing. Plus there are very good SEO related issues which make this a very bad idea.

Not only does the beginner waste time trying to make money, he is setting himself up for major disappointment when no money comes in. Most beginners will quit Internet marketing because they don’t see the results they expected soon enough.

Forget making money right now! Your number one job is to bring traffic to your site. After all, no traffic means no $$$!

Focus on building a quality site with plenty of content. Install Google Analytics on your pages and watch the site’s stats on a regular basis.

The ONLY thing you should focus on at first is getting traffic!

Of course the way to do this is by creating great content and using SEO skills to get your pages ranked well in the search engines.

Your job is to drive traffic to your site. Once the traffic comes, monetizing the traffic will be the easy part!
