So You Want To Start An Internet Business?

It is quite possible you are right now in the same boat I was several years ago. I had a good job and was making pretty fair money. However, I could not see myself doing what I was for the rest of my life.

…too much stress…not enough time for important things…no real hope of anything changing unless I took action.

I tried many ideas in the past while attempting to become financially independent. There was always something in me that was searching for a life better than a 40 hour per week job where I had to answer to a boss.

Luckily, a while back I became interested in Internet marketing. It seemed to offer everything I was looking for:

• I could work from home.
• I alone would reap all the rewards of my work and creativity.
• I would not be limited by salary schedules or the need for promotions to increase my standard of living.
• I would have control over my life’s direction.

Internet marketing looked like a perfect fit!

When I set out on the online marketing path, I of course was a complete beginner. I did not have the first clue as to what I was doing. I fell into the same traps and went down the same wrong roads which I now see many beginners doing on a day to day basis.

I have said it time and again and know I will have to keep saying it, but if you want success in the Internet marketing business you simply have to have a firm foundation in the basics principle of Internet marketing.

You will not make a dime of profit (short of luck here and there) until you learn and are able and willing to apply the basic principles of online marketing.

Forget for now about replacing your full time income! Just making a few hundred dollars per month on a regular basis is a big enough goal for now. Even with that modest goal, all the basics have to be in place. There are no shortcuts.

The basics are pretty simple really. Learn basic page design. Learn SEO techniques. Learn how to choose the correct keywords to optimize your pages with.

Sounds pretty simple I’d say! And it is! However, there is much study and practice involved in applying those skills effectively.

Here is where most beginners get stuck: They may read and study about the basic principles, but they don’t follow through with action. Action is required to learn how all the pieces fit together. Trial and error is part of the process! Get busy now!

If you don’t learn the art of “failing fast” and working your tail off until one of your projects gets some traction, you’ll forever be at the 9 to 5 job. If your first idea doesn’t work (I will bet you it doesn’t), then you try again - learning from your past mistakes - and again. If you want it badly enough, you WILL keep working at it until you succeed!

Ok, finally for the really good news: Once you learn how to create a stream of income online, even just a few hundred dollars per month, you THEN know how to wash, rinse, and repeat your way to greater success! Once you are at that minimum level, things get very exciting! You will then see a VERY bright light at the end of the tunnel! You’ll have your dream shortly!
